What sports are the SIB shin pads designed for?

The RDX SIB Shin Instep Guard is designed for boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing training and competition. The instep coverage protects the top of the foot during kicking combinations, making it suitable for full-contact sparring. They are not designed for football, hockey, or other field sports — for those applications, purpose-built sport-specific shin guards are more appropriate.

What is Supremo-Shock Foam™ and how does it protect the shin?

Supremo-Shock Foam™ is RDX's impact-distributing foam padding used in the shin area of these guards. Rather than absorbing impact at a single point, the foam spreads the force of a blow across a wider surface area, reducing peak pressure on the underlying bone. The foam works in conjunction with the integrated gel layer — the foam distributes the impact and the gel absorbs residual energy — providing layered protection through hard contact.

How do I choose the correct size?

Measure the length of your shin from below the knee to above the ankle bone. S suits shin lengths up to approximately 12 inches (30cm); M suits 12–13 inches (30–33cm); L suits 13–14 inches (33–36cm); XL suits 14 inches (36cm) and above. The Ayz-F™ elastic straps should hold the guard firmly in place with no sliding during movement — if the guard shifts during shadow work, size down or adjust strap tension.

How do I clean the SIB shin pads?

Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth after each session and allow to air-dry fully before storing. Do not machine wash — this can damage the internal foam and gel layers and degrade the elastic straps. Allow the pads to ventilate fully between sessions, and do not store in a closed bag while still warm and damp, as this accelerates odour build-up.
