Taekwondo foot protectors cover the top of the foot and toes during kicking exchanges. In WT electronic scoring competition, the foot protector is the striking surface that registers on the PSS (Protector Scoring System) chest guards — WT-approved models are required for scores to be registered electronically in sanctioned competition. Non-WT-approved guards work for training but do not interface with electronic scoring equipment.
