Judogi are purpose-designed for the grip and throw dynamics of judo: heavier fabric than karate or BJJ gis, wider lapels to handle sustained collar and sleeve grips without tearing, and reinforced seams at the collar, shoulders, and knee areas where throw-and-fall forces concentrate. Single weave judogi are lighter and suited for regular training; double weave judogi are significantly heavier and more durable, preferred for competition and high-intensity training multiple times per week.

White is the traditional training color; blue is used in IJF competition for the second fighter to visually distinguish competitors. Judogi are sized by height, not clothing size — a size 3 fits approximately 160–165 cm; size 5 fits approximately 175–180 cm. Free belt included with all purchases.
