Frequently Asked Questions

How do I mould the Combat Mouth Guard?

Bring water to a boil, remove from heat, and let it cool for 30 seconds. Place the mouth guard in the water for 20–30 seconds until soft. Remove carefully, let cool for 1–2 seconds, then bite down firmly while pressing your lips and cheeks against the guard. Hold for 20–30 seconds then cool under cold water. If the fit is not ideal on the first attempt, re-heat and repeat — most boil-and-bite guards allow 2–3 remoulding attempts.

What is the difference between the Combat and Youth Combat Mouth Guard?

The Combat Mouth Guard is adult-sized for the mature jaw of fighters 15 and above. The Youth Combat Mouth Guard is sized for children's jaw proportions, typically ages 6–14. Using an adult guard in a child's mouth (or vice versa) results in a poor fit and compromised protection. Select the guard appropriate to the wearer's jaw size, not just age.

Is a mouth guard required for boxing and MMA training?

For any contact or sparring activity, yes — a mouth guard is mandatory for boxing, Muay Thai, and combat sport sparring. Even for technical bag and pad work without contact, many coaches recommend wearing a mouth guard to develop the habit and provide protection against accidental impacts. All regulated boxing and MMA competitions require mouth guard use.

How do I clean and store the Combat Mouth Guard?

Rinse under cold water after every use. Clean weekly with a soft toothbrush and mild soap or a dedicated mouth guard cleaning tablet. Store in the ventilated carrying case to allow drying between sessions. Replace if the guard shows cracks, deformation, or no longer fits securely — a damaged guard provides significantly less protection.
